July 7 bomber video released
A video showing one of the London suicide bombers has been shown on the al Jazeera television network.
The video, which was released on the eve of the first anniversary of the bomb attacks, features Shahzad Tanweer, who detonated his bomb on one of the Tube trains targeted in the attack.
In the video, he says: "What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a string of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq."
The video also features a new statement from al Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al Zawahiri.
Scotland Yard's Assistant Commissioner Andy Hayman said that the release of the video had been timed to "only cause maximum hurt and distress" to the families and friends of those who died in the attacks and the survivors.
The video is the second to be released featuring one of the July 7 suicide bombers. A video featuring Mohammed Sidique Khan, who is suspected of being the ringleader of the group, was released last year.
Both Tanweer and Khan had visited Pakistan before the July 7 attacks and a parliamentary report said that it was "likely" that they had contact with al Qaeda members while they were there.
Fifty-two people were killed when four suicide bombers targeted three Tube trains and a bus in London on July 7 last year.
