Sir Bobby Robson released from hospital

Former England manager Sir Bobby Robson has been released from hospital, two days after he was taken ill at a football match.

The 73-year-old had been attending Ipswich Town's game against Crystal Palace when he complained of feeling unwell about ten minutes after kick-off.

Sir Bobby was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where he underwent routine tests. A hospital spokesperson confirmed that he was released from hospital at around 10:30 am on Monday.

Robson, who managed Ipswich Town between 1969 and 1982, recently became the club's honorary club president and was paraded before fans at the club's Portman Road ground before the game.

Sir Bobby had a cancerous tumour removed from his lung in May, when it was spotted during an X-ray he had following a skiing accident.

It was the third cancer scare for the former England manager, who previously beat the disease in 1992 and 1995.

It is understood that his cancer specialist, Dr Hugh Davies, who was Robson's guest at Saturday's match, accompanied him to the hospital.

Ipswich Hospital has not released any details about the symptoms Sir Bobby was suffering from when he was admitted to hospital.
