Man found dead following reports of shooting

Police are investigating shootings in south Wales which left a man dead and two men injured.

Gwent Police said that they had been called to a report of a shooting in Usk View, Govilon, Abergavenny around 2:50pm on Sunday.

Two men, believed to be brothers, aged 17 and 20, were found in the garden of a house. Both had suffered gunshot wounds to the leg.

They were taken to the Nevill Hall Hospital, where they are now receiving treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The body of an adult male, believed to be in his fifties, was also found in a field near the scene by firearms officers. A shotgun was recovered from the scene where the body was found.

The man has yet to be formally identified.

Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident, but Gwent Police said that they are curently not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Gwent Police said they believe a body found on Tuesday is of missing artist Roger Cecil. The 72-year-old renowned artist from Abertillery, has been missing since Saturday when he left Royal Gwent Hospital. A body was discovered in a field off Treherbert Road in Cwmbran by a member of the public.

Attempted murder inquiry launched after shooting
Gwent Police have launched an attempted murder inquiry following the shooting of two brothers in Abergavenny on Sunday. Police were called to reports of a shooting in Usk View, Govilon on Sunday afternoon. Two men, brothers Gareth Harris, 17, and Anthony Price, 20, were found in the garden of a house, with gunshot wounds to the lower legs.

Man Arrested Following Stabbing Incident
A man has been arrested after a woman in her 40s and two teenage girls were stabbed at a house in Little Green Lane, Small Heath, Birmingham in a suspected domestic incident. The police were called by a resident who reported hearing screams from the house at around 7.20am.

Body Found In Woodland Believed To Be Missing 60-Year-Old
The body of a man found in woodland in Brimington is believed to be of a missing local man. Police said the body, found by a dog walker on Friday, 23 October, is believed to be of Roy Thompson. It is understood a formal identification is yet to take place, but police said they are confident it is Mr Thompson.
