Woman arrested over child's death

A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a four-year-old girl who died in hospital at the weekend.

Leticia Wright, from Almondbury Bank, Huddersfield, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on Saturday night, but died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A post mortem examination revealed that she died as the result of complications from multiple injuries.

Detective Superintendent Paul Taylor, who is leading the investigation, said: "We need to build up a picture of Leticia's life so that we can establish the events which led up to her death.

"I would therefore appeal to anyone who knew Leticia and who visited her recently to get in touch, as she only moved to Huddersfield in August this year."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 01484 436659 or Crimestoppers on: 0800 555 111.
