Man released on bail following 'hit-and-run' death

A 60-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in a suspected hit-and-run death has been released on bail.

The man, who is from Bolton, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the death of Valerie Syndall.

Ms Syndall, 32, who was known locally as Valerie Brown, was found in a road in Farnworth in Bolton on Saturday night, suffering from serious head injuries. She died later in hospital.

Boy, 10, Arrested In Connection With Death Of 79-Year-Old Man
A 10-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Harehills, Leeds. On Sunday police were contacted by the ambulance service who were tending a 79-year-old man with a head injury in Back Hill Top Avenue. He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.

13-Year-Old Among Five Arrested Over Stabbing Death
A 13-year-old girl is among five people arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the stabbing of a 42-year-old man. The teenager is being held in connection with the death of Darren Kelly, of Basildon, Essex, alongside a 15-year-old girl, two boys aged 16 and 17 and a 20-year-old man.

Baby Dies After Being Bitten By Family Pet
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a baby bitten by dog in Sunderland. The three-week-old baby boy died in hospital following an incident at his home in Falkland Road. Police were called to the address at 04:15 on Saturday, 20 June. It is understood that the baby had been bitten by the families pet dog.
