Kylie forced to cancel two concerts

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has been forced to cancel two concerts due to ill health.

The 38-year-old singer, who underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2005, cut short her concert at Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday.

A spokesperson confirmed that the singer was suffering from a "moderately severe" respiratory tract infection.

The shows are part of the UK leg of Kylie's Showgirl Homecoming Tour, which began on New Year's Eve. The star had already performed seven dates at Wembley Arena, before the dates in Manchester, which began last Friday.

Minogue had been forced to postpone the original Showgirl in 2005, following her diagnosis for breast cancer in May 2005.

Monday and Tuesday's shows have been cancelled. They have been rescheduled for January 21 and 22 and tickets for the original shows will remain valid.

Anyone unable to attend the rescheduled dates will be able to claim a refund from the point of purchase no later than January 19.

It is not yet known whether Saturday's show will also be rescheduled.

Kylie's scheduled shows at the MEN Arena on Thursday and Friday are expected to go ahead as planned.
