Kidman involved in on-set crash

Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, 39, was apparently uninjured when the car she was in during filming was involved in an accident in Los Angeles.

The Oscar winner, and one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, was in a car being towed by a camera vehicle on a road closed-off for the filming of 'The Invasion'.

Ms Kidman, who was taken to hospital, was released after a check-up and is expected to return to the set.

The car she was in was being towed in a sequence where zombies were being shaken from the bonnet. However, the tow vehicle, which was under the control of a stunt driver, spun off the road and struck a lamp post. Eight people sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Los Angeles Police are expected to conduct a routine accident investigation.
