Britain braced for heavy snow
Britain is braced for heavy snow as forecasters predict heavy snow showers are to sweep across the country tonight and into tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings, with predictions that between 2cm and 5cm of snow could fall in southeast England, while up to 15cm of snowfall is expected in areas of Wales and the Midlands.
There is expected to be disruption during the morning rush hour in some parts of the UK.
The Highways Agency is advising motorists to check the latest weather forecasts and road conditions before setting out on their journey.
The agency warned drivers only to make essential journeys and to ensure that they had warm clothes, boots, food, water, de-icer and a spade in their vehicles in case of a breakdown.

Heavy snowfalls may affect north and north east
Much of the UK, and possibly parts of Ireland, are braced for a cold snap that may bring heavy snowfalls. From Sunday night the UK will see a radical change in the mild weather as a strong northerly wind lowers temperatures. The Met Office has said that the freezing weather is expected to last for several days.

Cold weather set to continue
The current cold spell gripping the UK is set to continue, the Met Office has warned, with more snow showers expected across England and Wales today. South East England could see accumulations of snow of between 3 to 7cm, due to persistent snow showers, the Met Office warned.

Heavy snow causes travel disruption
Heavy snow has caused travel chaos across many parts of England and Wales. The severe weather conditions caused runaways to be closed at Luton, Stansted, Cardiff, London City, Birmingham and Gatwick, but they have since reopened.
