Man arrested over Lalia Rezk murder

Police investigating the murder of mother-of-two Laila Rezk last year have arrested a man.

Mrs Rezk, 51, was murdered shortly after returning to her home in Putney in south London last November.

Her daughter found her, lying in her home suffering from severe head injuries, and she died later in hospital.

Police believe that she may have been followed from a bus as she returned home from work.

The suspect, whose age has not been released, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with Mrs Rezk's death. He is being held in custody at a south London police station.

Man in court over Laila Rezk murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 51-year-old mother-of-two Laila Rezk. Lloyd Edwards, 18, from Roehampton, southwest London was remanded in custody Kingston Magistrates' Court on Thursday. He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 19.

Tagged Early Release Criminal Killed Victim
A convicted criminal who was released early and ordered to wear an electronic tag killed a woman in her own home while tagged as he was undertaking a burglary at the victim's home. Lloyd Edwards, 19, has now been convicted at Kingston Crown Court of murdering Laila Rezk, 51, who was found dying at her home in Kingston Vale in 2006.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Faversham at the weekend. Kent Police confirmed Lincoln Payne, of no fixed abode, had been charged with robbery, theft and two counts of attempted murder following an incident in Fostall Avenue on Saturday, 30 May.

Double Murder Investigation Underway After Bodies Found In Garden
The discovery of human remains at a house in Nottinghamshire has become a double murder investigation, police have said. Police were speaking on Monday about the discovery on October 10 of the remains of two bodies in the garden of a house in Blenheim Close, Forest Town, Nottinghamshire. Police say they were led to the property by a tip.

Arrests Made Over 2006 Double Murder
Officers from Trident, investigating gun crime in the capital, have arrested one man and two women in connection with the murder of Jordan Jackson and Leyla Djemal-Northcott in 2006. Following new information, police used a specialist diving team to search the Regent's Canal for the murder weapon.
