Appeal over serious sexual assault in Blaenau Gwent

Police in Blaenau Gwent have appealed for information following the serious sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman at the weekend.

The attack happened in an area known locally as the "Black Path", between Brynmawr and Beaufort near Ebbw Vale, around 1:00am on Saturday morning.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 40, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with short dark hair. He was dressed in dark clothing.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sutton of Gwent Police said: "This was a particularly terrifying ordeal for the young woman who is traumatised by the incident."

Minibus Overturns In Wales
A minibus has crashed and overturned near Abergavenny in Wales this morning, Friday. Eight people were in the minibus when the collision occurred on the Old Hereford Road at around 8am. No other vehicles were involved and no-one was seriously injured, Gwent Police confirmed.

Gwent Police Appeal For Missing 13-Year-Old Boy
Gwent Police have appeal for help in tracing a missing 13-year-old boy. Michael Driver has been missing from his Monmouthshire home since Saturday 12 October. Michael is described as 4ft 5in (1.3m) tall, with dark hair and is of slight build, when last seen he was wearing a black hooded top and jeans.

Shotguns Recovered In Newport Shooting
Police investigating the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Caroline Parry in Newport last week have said three shotguns have been recovered. It is understood the firearms belonged Ms Parry's estranged husband, 49-year-old Christopher. The woman was shot dead in Seabreeze Avenue, Newport, on Thursday.

Woman Dies In Newport Shooting
A woman has died following a shooting incident in Newport, south Wales this morning. Armed police responded to a report of gunshots at around 08:45 on Thursday morning, and found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. The make and female victims were taken to Royal Gwent Hospital where the woman died a short time later.

Police Renew Appeal For Missing Nida Naseer
Police still have no information on the whereabouts of a 19-year-old woman who disappeared from outside her home while putting the bins out. Nida Naseer has not been seen since around 20:00 on Saturday 28 December. Ms Naseer was not wearing shoes and did not have her phone, money or coat with her when she disappeared.
