Caustic soda packages 'terrorist' charges

A man has appeared in court charged with terrorism offences after two packages containing caustic soda were posted in Greater Manchester.

The charges concern two packages which were sent to a Labour councillor in Blackburn and a journalist in Glasgow last month.

The court heard how the offences related to alleged activity by the Scottish National Liberation Army.
