Two arrested over teenager's murder
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Blackpool.
Sam Brown, 16, was stabbed outside his home in Cockerham Walk on Monday. Neighbours attempted to save him but he had died by the time paramedics arrived. He suffered a single stab wound to the chest.
A 28-year-old man was also stabbed during the same incident. He remains in a stable condition in Blackpool Victoria Hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Sam had been due to sit his English GCSE exam with classmates at St Mary's Catholic College today. He had finished school last week and taken a part-time job in a supermarket. He had been hoping to train as a plumber.
Detective Superintendent Graham Gardner said: "This is a complex inquiry. The full story about what happened in the early hours of Monday on the Grange Park estate is yet to emerge.
"A number of people have been arrested but I expect they will only be part of the jigsaw.
"I am convinced the answer to this terrible murder lies on the estate itself."

A man has been shot by police after being called to attend an incident in Hersden where a woman was stabbed. Police initially attended the scene at around 11.20pm on Sunday followed by firearms officers and police negotiators. The man and woman, who are members of the same family, are both in a critical condition in hospital.

Girl Arrested Following Stabbing Incident
A 15-year-old girl has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Reading. The girl was arrested after a 16-year-old boy was hurt in Gainsborough Road on 7 June. The boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Police arrested the girl on suspicion of GBH with intent.

Police Recover Brazil Murder Body Parts
More body parts of a British teenager murdered in Brazil have been recovered, according to Brazilian police. Police have found the forearms and left leg of Cara Burke, 17, along the banks of a remote river near the central city of Goiania. Inspector Carlos Raimundo Batista said police were "confident" the body parts were the murdered teenagers.
