Man killed in Gloucestershire car accident

A man has been killed in a serious car accident in Gloucestershire.

The accident happened around 6:55pm on Monday evening on the A417 at Ampney St Peter, near Cirencester.

The crash involved a black Renault Clio that had been heading towards Cirencester when the vehicle left the road on the nearside of a left hand bend and rolled several times before coming to rest on a grass verge.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man from Gloucester, suffered serious head and chest injuries in the crash and was taken by air ambulance to Great Western Hospital in Swindon, but died later.

The road was closed for three hours while police collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene.

Alton Towers Opens Again After Skyride Blaze Accident
Theme park Alton Towers has reopened after a blaze, which broke out in a cable car station on Sunday. The fire started at the Skyride cable car station around 7.30pm last night while guests attended the park's Halloween event, Scarefest. One part of the Staffordshire park was evacuated, as 50 firefighters tackled the blaze.
