British Soldier Killed In Iraq

A British soldier has been killed while serving in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.

The soldier, from the Parachute Regiment, is reported to have died on Wednesday 5 September.

The MoD said he sustained fatal injuries while conducting routine operations in support of ongoing Coalition activity.

The individual's next of kin have been informed and further details will be released after a 24 hour grace period, in accordance with the family's wishes.

British Soldier Killed In Iraq
A British solider has been killed in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. The soldier from the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment died after being injured by an improvised explosive device, which targeted a Warrior vehicle patrol which was carrying out routine duties in the Mustashfa district of Basra in southern Iraq on Tuesday night.

British soldier dies in Basrah helicopter crash
A British soldier has died after an RAF helicopter crashed in southern Iraq today. The MoD confirmed that the soldier was killed in "an accident" involving an RAF Puma helicopter at Basrah International Airport. Two other British military personnel were injured during the incident.

MoD names British soldier killed in Iraq
The Ministry of Defence has named the British soldier killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq on Tuesday night. Sergeant Christian Hickey, of the 1st Battalion the Coldstream Guards, died as a result of his injuries, following the explosion, which took place around 11:23 local time in Basra on Tuesday night.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the name of a British soldier killed in a bomb explosion in Iraq on Sunday. Major Matthew Bacon, 34, from the London area, was travelling in an armoured landrover in Basra, southern Iraq, when a roadside bomb exploded, hitting the vehicle.
