Men In Court Over Hertfordshire Triple Murder

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of three men in Hertfordshire last month.

Keith Cowell, 52, his 17-year-old son Matthew and Tony Dulieu from Billericay in Essex, were shot dead at the Cowell's home in Bishop's Stortford on August 28.

Kevan Thakrar, 20, from Lomond Way in Stevenage and his father Atul Thakrar, 46, from Compton Place in Northwood, appeared before St Albans Crown Court on Friday.

Kevan Thakrar is charged with three counts of murder and two of attempted murder, as well as a firearms offence, while Atul Thakrar is charged with assisting an offender.

A plea hearing is now set to take place on November 19.

Amanda Dansie, 20, of High Street in Buntingford, has also been charged with assisting an offender in relation to the killings and is due to appear in court later.

Two women - Matthew's 23-year-old girlfriend and Mr Cowell's 54-year-old sister - were also seriously injured in the attack last month.

A three-year-old girl, believed to be the daughter of the younger woman, was also in the house at the time of the attack, but was unhurt.
