Majorca Mum Missing After Child's Hotel Fall

The mother of a seven-year-old British girl who was seriously injured in a fall from a hotel balcony in Majorca is being sought by police.

Gianna Cooper, from Cambridgeshire, was found on the roof of an office on Monday morning after falling from the fifth floor of the Samoa Hotel in Calas de Mallorca.

The girl underwent surgery in hospital in the island's capital, Palma, and is now in a serious, but stable, condition.

Gianna had been on holiday with her parents, Martin and Sara Cooper, and two brothers when the incident occurred. It is understood that the family had taken two rooms in the hotel, with the father and two boys staying in one and the mother and daughter staying in the other.

Sara Cooper has not been seen since her daughter was discovered on the office's roof by hotel staff.

Ports and airports have been alerted as the search for her continues.
