The number of police involved in the search has now been increased. a spokesperson said: "Our priority is the area of Calas de Majorca. We are also looking at the coast and in the sea. At the moment, we believe that her disappearance is voluntary."

The family had taken two rooms in the hotel, with the father and two boys staying in one room and the mother and daughter staying in the other.

The couple's eldest son is understood to have remained at the family home in Foxton.
