Twenty-One Arrested In Immigration Raids

Twenty-one people have been arrested in an operation run between North Wales Police and the Border and Immigration Agency.

Two people were detained on suspicion of facilitating the illegal entry of illegal immigrants.

The other 19 people are suspected of being illegal immigrants and will be interviewed today by the Border and Immigration Agency. Two were later released, leaving seven woman and ten men of Malaysian and Chinese origin to be interviewed.

The arrests and detentions were all made on Thursday evening at addresses in the Rhyl and Ruthin areas of Denbighshire under the Immigration Act. It is understood that the properties were five Chinese restaurants.
