Arrests Follow Headless Body Discovery

Police investigating the discovery of the headless body of a man in north-west London have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

It is understood that the man, believed to be in his 40s, was arrested in Alvaston in Derby on Thursday night.

Another man and a woman were arrested at the same address on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three suspects have been brought to London for questioning.

The body of the man, who has not yet been named, was discovered wrapped in blankets in a gold-coloured retail stock cage behind a row of shops in Kilburn on Wednesday.

A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive. The head has not yet been found and neither has the murder weapon.

Forensic experts have been carrying out searches in the area where the body was found.

Police have said that it is not known how long the body had been in the cage before it was found. Toxicology tests are also being carried out with the results expected in a couple of weeks.
