Cole Released On Bail After Wife Attack
Nottingham-born footballer Andy Cole has been questioned by police after an alleged assault on his wife.
The 36-year-old, currently on loan at Burnley, was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning at his home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
Chesire Police have confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
A spokesman said: "A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was interviewed and released on police bail until a date in April pending further inquiries."
Cole married his long-term girlfriend Shirley Dewar at St Bartholomew's Church, in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in July 2002.

French Police Arrest Convicted On-The-Run Rapist
A 56-year-old convicted rapist who went on the run before his trial has been captured in France. Police in Calais arrested George Doulat, from Filey, North Yorkshire, on Monday. In his absence, Doulat was convicted at Bradford Crown Court for the rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in 2012. He was sentenced to 10 years.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.
