Police Inspector's Body Found In Dorset
A man whose body was found washed ashore at an exclusive seaside peninsula in Dorset has been named as a police inspector from Bournemouth.
The body of Inspector Neil Munro, 43, was found in a garden along Panorama Road, which is nicknamed 'Millionaire's Row' on Thursday morning.
It was reported that Mr Munro, who was married with a 21-month-old son, had suffered head injuries, but these were later dismissed by Chief Constable Martin Baker from Dorset Police as "wholly unfounded". He said that the death was being treated as "unexplained".
According to reports, the body was found by a gardener, who discovered it under the jetty at a multi-million-pound seafront mansion. The owners of the house are understood to have then contacted police.
It is believed that Mr Munro boarded a ferry as a foot passenger sailing from Poole to Cherbourg on Wednesday night. However, no-one saw him fall aboard.
Mr Munro's wife Mel, 33, released a statement which described Mr Munro as "one of life's good guys" who had "so many wonderful qualities".
Chief Constable Baker said that the whole force had been "deeply shocked" by the news of Inspector Munro's death. He said: "Neil had served with Dorset Police for 20 years. He had a huge impact on policing in Bournemouth and across the force."

Father And Son Found Dead In Dorset
The bodies of a father and his son have been found in a house in Dorset. The pair, who have been named locally as Chris Hall and his six-year-old son, also called Chris, was made at a house in Queens Road, Poole on Wednesday around 5.30pm. According to reports, the boy's mother found the bodies.

The bodies of a retired police inspector and his girlfriend have been found with gunshot wounds in Devizes. Bill Dowling, a retired police inspector with 30 years' service, and the woman who is yet to be named, where found at Moonrakers estate at around 11:00am on Saturday.
