Two Britons Die In Light Aircraft Crash

The two Britons who died in a plane crash have been named as John Ritchie, 81, and Kevin Young, 54.

According to reports, the Italian pilot and his wife were also killed when the light aircraft came down near Rovereto in the north west of the country yesterday.

The passengers were on the return leg of their journey. The plane had taken off from Nicelli airport in Venice and stopped in Trento before crashing.

All four victims are understood to have belonged to the Flying Rotarians, part of the Rotary International organisation.

The Italian pilot, Vittorio Rossetti, was said to be very experienced.

"We can confirm the death of two British nationals in a light aircraft accident near Rovereto.

We are providing consular assistance," said a foreign office spokesman.

The Italian air safety agency has begun an investigation.

The Gazzettino newspaper has said engine failure was the likely cause of the accident.

An investigation has been launched into a light aircraft crash near the M25 in Essex on Monday in which two people were killed. A 43-year-old man and a three-year-old girl were killed when the single-engine four-seater plane crashed into a field on the M25 at Navestock, near Brentwood in Essex, around 4pm on Monday.

Men Walk Away From Light Aircraft Crash
Two men have escaped serious injury after their light aircraft crashed after taking off near Newport. The pilot and passenger escaped the two-seater Kiscruiser, which then caught fire. Gwent Police say the single engine Kiscruiser had taken off from Upfield Farm, Whitson intending to go to Filton.

Pilot Killed In Light Aircraft Crash
Thames Valley Police have reported the death of a man in a light aircraft accident near Buckingham. According to police, the light aircraft was found at about 19:40 on Wednesday at Hedges Farm, off London Road, north of Padbury. The pilot, said to be aged in his 60s, was the only person onboard the plane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Die In Light Aircraft Crash
A man and a woman have died after a light aircraft crashed near the runway at Airbus UK Broughton. Police were informed of the incident involving a twin engine light aircraft at 1.07pm on Friday 15 November. Police, Ambulance and the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended.
