Light Aircraft Crash - Two Killed

An investigation has been launched into a light aircraft crash near the M25 in Essex on Monday in which two people were killed.

A 43-year-old man and a three-year-old girl were killed when the single-engine four-seater plane crashed into a field on the M25 at Navestock, near Brentwood in Essex, around 4pm on Monday.

A woman managed to crawl free from the wreckage. She was taken to Queen's Hospital in Romford, suffering from head and facial injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is believed that all three people were from London and that the plane was travelling to Kent. However, police have not named the victims and have not confirmed if they were all members of the same family.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has launched an investigation into the crash.
