Seven Arrested Over Nottingham Street Fight

Seven people have been arrested after a man was killed in Nottingham.

Police have launched a murder investigation following a fight in Thurland Street just before 4am on Monday morning.

Cordons remain in place at Thurland Street at the junction with Clinton Street, Pelham Street and Clumber Street and are likely to remain until further searches have been completed tomorrow.

A police spokesperson said: "There are now seven people in custody but we believe there may have been others involved in the fight, some of whom we may not yet have traced. We need to speak to all those who were involved, anyone who witnessed the fight, or who has any information."

Man killed in street fight
A man has been killed during a street fight in west London. Another man was critically injured in the fight in Harlington High Street in the early hours of Friday morning, while several other members of the public, ambulance staff and police officers were also injured.

Man Arrested Over £1m Heroin Find
A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of heroin, with an estimated street value of £1 million. Police Scotland recovered the heroin, along with a quantity of tablets, a firearm and ammunition, during the search of a property in Inverleith Street in Carntyne. A 33-year-old man has been charged with drug find.

Street cleaners urged to fight crime
Street cleaners and other street workers have been urged to help fight crime by becoming the eyes and ears of a community. A report by the Audit Commission said that street workers employed by councils to observe low-level criminal activity in a community would not place an extra burden on them or the police.
