Police Hunt Man In Connection With Sex Attack
Police are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a young woman in her home.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at a private house in Harris Street in Darlington.
The seventeen-year-old girl was on her own in the premises when she was woken by a disturbance.
The girl was then threatened and subjected to the ordeal. The girl is said to be extremely distressed but otherwise unhurt.
Police say the intruder is white, around 5ft 7in tall, with collar-length hair and spoke with a local accent. He wore a light coloured, hooded top and blue jeans.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Nail said: "We have yet to establish how this man got inside the house and how long he was there for. This must have been a terrifying experience for the victim and even though it happened in the early hours of the morning, I am hoping there may have been people around who saw a man matching this description."
Police have been conducting house-to-house enquiries and have asked anyone with information to call 0845 6060 365.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Man Arrested In Toddler Death Probe
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a three-year-old girl. The toddler was brought to hospital on Friday but died in the early hours of Saturday morning. A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man from Beck Road, Shiregreen, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and inquiries are continuing.

A man has been killed during a street fight in west London. Another man was critically injured in the fight in Harlington High Street in the early hours of Friday morning, while several other members of the public, ambulance staff and police officers were also injured.
