Four Arrested In Connection To Ben Death

Police are appealing for information from the public following the murder of Ben Kinsella.

Ben was attacked during a row with youths in York Way, Holloway, north London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Ben, 16, was taken to Whittington hospital by ambulance but later died.

Four people believed to be in their late teens have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Police say one suspect is being held in Islingston, two in Chadwell Heath and one in Bethnal Green.

Three were arrested late last night and one on Tuesday.

Yesterday, two 16-year-old teenagers were released on police bail in connection with the killing.

They will return to a north London police station at a later date in August.

It is understood that Ben was with friends inside Shillibeers pub/club in North Road when he became involved in a disturbance outside the venue.

The disturbance spilled out into the street and along North Road, where Ben was stabbed.

One of Ben's friends said he made a "desperate" phone begging for help as he lay dying on the street.

It is reported that David Dugdale, 17, was the friend that received the call. "He called me on the phone and just said 'help'. He sounded really scared and then it just clicked off," he said.

It is believed that the suspects, who have been described by police as black and between 17 or 18 years-of-age, ran away.

A post mortem carried out yesterday revealed the cause of death as "multiple stab wounds" to the torso.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated and a motive is as yet unclear.

Police say there is nothing to suggest that it was a "racially motivated" or "gang related" crime.

It is understood two knives were found close to the scene but it is not known if the knives are connected to the inquiry.

Yesterday, Ben's actress sister Brooke paid an emotional tribute to her brother and said: "We tragically lost not only a beautiful son and brother, but a true angel.

"He was one of the kindest and gentlest boys God created."

The former Eastenders actress pleaded with youngsters who carry knives to "please, please, put down your knives and weapons and think about the pain and suffering they will cause".

Ben is the 17th teenager to die as a result of violence and the 12th to be stabbed in the capital so far this year. In 2007, 27 teenagers where killed in the city.

It has now also emerged that the police are investigating another fatal stabbing in London.

A man aged in his 30s has died after being attacked near a petrol station at Elephant and Castle at around 10.30pm yesterday.
