Man Stabbed In 'Unprovoked' Attack in Edinburgh
A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Edinburgh.
It took place in front of his girlfriend and her two young children and while he was walking his dog.
The 23-year-old, who has not been named, was attacked by three men in Wardieburn Street West, Granton.
Lothian and Borders Police say the victim suffered fatal injuries during a disturbance between a group of men at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.
It is understood the man had been out for a walk with his girlfriend who was pushing a buggy at the time.
A police spokesman said: "It was a relatively mild evening last night and we believe that there were a number of people who were in the area at around the time of the disturbance."
Police say the attack was unprovoked.
Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any other information that can help our enquiries, should contact police as soon as possible."
The case will be lead by Detective Chief Inspector Linda Little.

Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Appeal Over Phone Box Rape
Police in Greater Manchester have appealed for information after a 23-year-old woman was raped in a phone box in Urmston. The attack happened in the early hours of August 19. The victim was walking along Crofts Bank Road around 2am when she met a man who appeared to be lost.

A British man has been killed during a robbery at his farm in South Africa, local police have confirmed. Christopher Preece, 54, originally from Southgate, north London, is believed to have bled to death after three armed men attacked him with machetes.

Police are seeking three men in connection with the serious sexual assault of a woman in Leeds. The attack happened around 7:30pm on Tuesday night. A 37-year-old was walking along an alley on Meadow Road in Garforth, after getting off a bus, when three unknown men approached her.
