Death Fall Boy 'May Have Been Chased'

A teenage boy who died after falling from a block of flats may have been chased, according to police.

Officers say they are investigating whether the 16-year-old boy had been pursued before falling from the building in Paragon Road, Hackney.

Emergency services were called to the scene where they found the victim shortly after 3pm on Wednesday. The youth died at the scene.

A Metropolitan spokesman said "at this early state, we believe he had fallen out of a block of flats".

"One line of inquiry officers are investigating is that the boy may have been chased prior to the fall," he said.

Police believe they know the identity of the deceased but are awaiting formal identification and confirmation that all next of kin have been informed.

A post mortem is due to be opened at Poplar mortuary later today.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
