Car Hijacked At Traffic Lights In Edinburgh
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman had her car hijacked in Edinburgh last night.
The 57-year-old victim was at traffic lights on East Mayfield, waiting to turn into Dalkeith Road, at about 10pm when a man approached. He opened the car door, threatened her and ordered her out of the vehicle.
The woman got out, and at this the man got in and drove off toward Priestfield Road.
The blue car was found later, abandoned, in Kirkhill Terrace.
A passing motorist stopped to try and help, and saw a second man running away from the scene.
The suspect is described as being white, between 18-25-years-old, 5ft 9ins tall, and was wearing a black jacket and trousers.
The other man is black or mixed race, 25-years-old, 5ft 9ins tall, and was wearing a black hooded top, and black trousers.
A police spokesman said: "This type of crime is highly unusual in Edinburgh, and police are following a positive line of enquiry.
'We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, and who saw anything suspicious, to contact police as a matter of urgency."

A mother has successfully fought off a man and a woman who attempted to snatch her baby daughter from her pram in Leigh, Greater Manchester. Shortly after 8pm on Sunday 12 August 2007, the 30-year-old mother was pushing a pram with her four-month-old daughter along Wigan Road, close to the Hulme Road junction.

Police Appeal For Two Missing Elderly Men
Police in Lewisham have appealed for helping tracing 72-year-old Edward Blyden. Mr Blyden, of Bell Green Lane, Sydenham, has not been since 10:00hrs on Friday, 7 August. Mr Blyden is described as a dark skinned black man, around 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build with shaven grey hair and grey stubble.

Woman Mugged In West Midland
A woman has been attacked by two men during a robbery in Selly Oak. She was assaulted, and suffered a bump to the head, during the incident on Shenley Fields Road on Tuesday. The 58-year-old was getting out of her car at around 6.55pm when two men approached her and attacked her.

Appeal Issued For Missing 14-Year-Old
Police are appealing for help to trace 14-year-old Rebecca Hancey from Edmonton. The teenager was last seen at Hounslow Central train station on the evening of Sunday, 18 October, but sent a text message at around 18:45hrs to say she was waiting for a train at Gospel Oak station.
