'Home Alone' Mother Arrested For Neglect
A woman accused of leaving her children 'home alone' while she went to Afghanistan, has been arrested.
Thirty-three-year-old Simten Sadiq, of Leeds, was arrested on Tuesday evening at Heathrow, and taken to West Yorkshire for questioning over suspected wilful neglect.
The woman's three children - aged 11, six and five - were found alone in their house last month, after neighbours alerted police.
A police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of wilful neglect in relation to an incident in Burley on Saturday, August 30, in which three children were found at an address with no adult present."
Mrs Sadiq has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
West Yorkshire officers revealed the children were "fit and well".
It is believed a member of the extended family was supposed to be looking after the children while their mother was away.

Woman Arrested After Five Children Die In House Fire
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after five children died in a house fire on Victoria Road in Derby. The ages of the children who died range from five up to 10-years-old. A sixth child, aged 13, has been transferred to a hospital in Birmingham for specialist treatment.

Boy Dies In Leeds House Fire
A seven-year-old boy has died following a fire at his home in Leeds, police have revealed. A woman, aged 37, believed to be the boy's mother, and two other children are in hospital after the blaze in Brompton Terrace in the Beeston area at around 10.42pm on Monday evening.

Children questioned about attempted murder
A fifth child has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a five-year-old boy suffered neck injuries in West Yorkshire. Four other children – two girls aged 12 and 11 and two boys, also aged 12 and 11 – are also in custody and are being questioned about the incident.
