Mother Bailed As Police Probe 'Home Alone' Blaze
Police are still unsure how long six children had been 'home alone' before having to be rescued from an accidental fire in their house earlier this week.
A 36-year-old mother arrested on suspicion of child neglect at their Oldham home has now been freed on bail, but the time that expired before the fire broke out and their subsequent rescue, remains unclear.
The youngsters, aged from eight months to 11 years, were freed after flames engulfed their home on Tuesday night.
A chip pan was left unattended on a cooker and the doors to the semi-detached house in Yasmin Gardens were locked.
Firefighters smashed through a front and rear window and found the children in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The children - who were taken to hospital - were first treated at the scene by paramedics and were then later discharged from hospital.
Jusmna Rani, 36, who was arrested by police shortly afterwards was released by detectives on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "A 36-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of child neglect has been bailed until 15 December 2008.
"Inquiries are ongoing."

Police Lose High Court Pay Battle
