Man Dies After House Collision

A man has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into the bedroom wall of an elderly couple’s bungalow in Dorset. The 32-year-old driver was on the Lymington Road, Christchurch, when his car left the road and ran into the home art around 5.40am. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene on the A337 at its junction with Curzon Way. The couple were described as "shocked" but otherwise unhurt.

Woman Raped In Glasgow City Centre

A 21-year-old woman has been raped in Glasgow city centre. Detectives are hunting a man, described as aged 25 to 30, 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, with short black hair and wearing black clothes. The attack happened at around 2am when a woman left her friends to go to a cash machine on Argyle Street, near Wellington Street. Police said the man approached her, and dragged her into a lane. Detectives are also appealing for a man - described as bald and wearing glasses - who interrupted the attack, to come forward.

Investigation Into Temple Explosion

An explosion has happened in a kitchen of a Sikh temple in Nottingham, police have revealed. The explosion and fire occurred in private living accommodation in the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara temple, on Church Street, on Sunday evening. Nottingham Police said there were no injuries, and the area has been cordoned off while an investigation is being carried out.

Man 'Critical' After Assault

A man, who was assaulted in a Southampton Park, has been left in a critical condition. Luke Woolfe, 18, was found early on Sunday morning in a playground in Northam. A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with the assault. Mr Woolfe has undergone surgery at Southampton General Hospital and is said to be in a "critical" condition.

New GWR Train Times Will Be 'Slower Than 1970s' - RMT
New £4.5 billion Intercity Great Western Trains will have slower journey times than forty years ago, it has been claimed. Research by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) has stated trains running from London to south Wales will be slower than those provided by British Rail (BR) in the 1970s.

Man Arrested Over Manchester Murder
Police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week have arrested a 70-year-old man. Craig Douglas was walking along Canal Street in the city last Monday evening with another man, when they were involved in an argument with two other men. Mr Douglas was then stabbed in the neck with a small knife.

Romanian Girl Feared Abducted In Scotland
Police in Glasgow are continuing their search for a teenage Romanian girl, amid fears that she may have been abducted. Irina Carpaci, 15, disappeared after leaving her home in Daisy Street in Govanhill, Glasgow, around 11am on Saturday.

Woman killed in house explosion
A woman has been killed and five other people injured in an explosion at a house in North Tyneside. The explosion happened at the house in Grey Street around 7:35 am this morning (Wednesday, May 10). A 63-year-old man was seriously injured in the blast and is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Stabbing
Essex Police have appealed for witnesses to a fatal stabbing in a Chelmsford park at about 15:15 on Thursday afternoon. It is understood that a man died in hospital after being fatally injured in an incident on Oaklands Park, Moulsham Street, yesterday.
