Police Officer Arrested In Connection With Model Death
A 49-year-old policewoman has been arrested in connection with the murder of teenage model Amy Leigh Barnes.
The West Midlands officer is being held in connection with the death of the 19-year-old, who was found stabbed at her home in Farnworth, Bolton on Saturday morning.
The deceased was a former pupil of Lords Independent School in Bolton was listed on the books of Manchester-based modelling agency Nemesis Casting.
She modelled for Cosmopolitan and Nuts Magazine and also appeared in Channel 4 teen drama, Hollyoaks.
Earlier today, Ricardo Morrison, 21, formerly of Birmingham, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court charged with the murder of Miss Barnes.
Morrison, the girl's former boyfriend - an amateur footballer - was remanded in custody by Bolton Magistrates and is due to appear in court again on 19 November.
Greater Manchester Police then revealed the woman – arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender – is a serving police officer in the West Midlands force.
She is to be questioned by officers later.
A post mortem examination revealed Amy died as a result of stab wounds.

Walkers Find Body Of A Baby
The body of a baby, thought to be a newborn, has been found by walkers in the Ox Hey Lane area of Lostock, Bolton, Greater Manchester on Thursday afternoon. It is understood that it is not yet known how long the baby had been there or how it died. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Monday.

Man Bailed Over Manchester Murder
A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after a disturbance in Manchester city centre has been bailed pending further inquiries. Zhen Asghar, 18, of Mallowdale Crescent, Bolton, suffered stab wounds at a flat near the Printworks on Monday 21 September 2009. He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday 23 September.

Four Arrested Following Discovery Of Two Cannabis Farms In Bolton
Four people have been arrested in Great Lever in Bolton following the discovery of two cannabis farms. Officers seized approximately 1,000 cannabis plants, said to be in various stages of growth, and a large quantity of cannabis that had been harvested and prepared for sale, from a mill on Lever Street.

A premiership footballer has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Bolton Wanderers striker Ivan Klasnic, 30, was arrested on Monday in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Manchester. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the teenager was attacked in an apartment in the city centre in the early hours of Monday.
