Premier League Footballer Charged With Sexual Assault

A Premier League footballer has been charged with sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at a nightclub in London.

Marlon King, 28, who is on loan to Middlesbrough from Wigan Athletic, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at the Soho Revue Bar in Brewer Street, central London, on December 7.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman received hospital treatment for a broken nose and a split lip.

At the time of the alleged incident King was on loan to Hull City.

King was arrested on December 10 following an incident at the bar - formerly Raymond Revue Bar. He was bailed to return to a police station.

After being charged the striker was released on bail again to appear at City of Westminster magistrates court on February 25.

Max Clifford Pleads Not Guilty To Charges
PR consultant Max Clifford has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault. The 70-year-old appeared at Southwark Crown Court this morning. He faces charges relating to seven alleged victims, between the ages of 14 and 19, between 1966 and 1985. Speaking outside the court, Clifford said he was "totally innocent" of the allegations.

Dave Lee Travis Cleared Of Indecent Assault
Dave Lee Travis has been cleared at his trial for indecent and sexual assault. Earlier on Thursday, the jury in the trial of the former BBC DJ had been instructed that a majority verdict would be accepted. This afternoon, the jury at Southwark Crown Court found the 68-year-old not guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault.

Nigel Evans Quits Amid Sex Charges
Nigel Evans has resigned from his role as Deputy Commons Speaker after being charged with a number of offences, including sexual assault, indecent assault and rape. The 55-year-old is accused of two counts of indecent assault, five counts of sexual assault and one rape count, in relation to seven men.

Commons Deputy Speaker 'Further Arrested' On New Indecent Assault Charges
The Commons Deputy Speaker has been re-arrested on new additional charges of indecent assault. 55-year-old Nigel Evans was originally arrested in May on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. On Wednesday as he answered his bail from the original charge, he "further arrested" on three more charges of indecent assault.
