Teen Dies In London Park Stabbing

A murder inquiry is underway after a teenager was stabbed to death and another was injured in south London.

One boy died in Larkhall Park, Lambeth, south London, and a second is currently receiving hospital treatment after also being injured in the incident.

His condition is described as "stable".

Four men have been arrested in connection with the attack.

The Homicide and Serious Crime Command, whose officers said they are keeping an "open mind" on the motive for the attack, are leading the murder investigation.

Local residents told police they heard what sounded like a fight in the park at about the time of the stabbings.

One man, who did not wish to be named, said: "There was a big fight - I heard it was some sort of retaliation after something else that happened earlier on."

The death takes the total of teenagers who died violently in the capital up to seven.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Larkhall Park after two teenage males were seen injured.

"Both suffered stab wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene.

"All relevant next-of-kin have yet to be informed and positive identification to take place."
