Three Questioned Over Nursery Child Porn Investigation

A woman and two men have been arrested in Nottinghamshire in relation to a child abuse investigation.

The 39-year-old female is being questioned on suspicion of child sexual assault and possessing and distributing indecent child images. Two men, both in their 20s, were also arrested on Wednesday morning.

They are being questioned by police in Nottingham.

Vanessa George - also 39 - who worked at Little Ted's Nursery in Plymouth, was last week charged with a series of child sex assaults as well as making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers from Nottinghamshire Police's Public Protection Department this morning arrested a 17-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of the making and distributing of indecent images of children, at an address in Nottingham.

"The arrests came about as the result of information passed from Greater Manchester Police late last night, which led to Nottinghamshire Police applying for a search warrant on an address in Nottingham."

The senior investigating officer, Det Supt Michele Slevin, of the Devon and Cornwall force, also said: "We have carried out a large number of inquiries since our initial arrest on Tuesday June 9.

"From our current inquiries, there is nothing to suggest the most recently arrested people have any links to Plymouth or any premises in the city.

"However, we are still working to establish the exact links that exist between these people and Vanessa George and evidence of the nature of their relationship."

Inquiries in Manchester earlier in the investigation led to the arrest of Colin Blanchard, who is 38, from Littleborough, near Rochdale.

Blanchard is charged with four offences - distributing, making and possessing indecent images of children and the possession of extreme pornographic images.
