Bristol Stab Accused Remanded

A man has been remanded in custody after ten people, including two police officers, were attacked with a penknife in Bristol.

The incident happened in the Easton Road area of Bristol shortly before 5pm on Monday.

A man was reported to be on cycle path close to Russell Town Avenue with a penknife.

Ten people were attacked, including two Police Community Support Officers, who had attempted to restrain the man and prevent further attacks.

None of those who were injured received serious or life-threatening injuries.

Stanley Bailey, 54, of Goater Street, Bristol, has been charged with nine counts of wounding with intent, two counts of attempted grevious bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

He appeared before Bristol Magistrates Court this morning, where he was remanded in custody. A trial date has been set at Bristol Crown Court for August 25.
