Man 'Attacked Partner And Set Home On Fire'

The High Court has heard how a man was allegedly attacked by his partner, who then set his home on fire, according to the BBC.

BBC Northern Ireland has reported how Ciaran Fleming, 20, of no fixed abode, is accused of beating up the victim and causing damage to the apartment.

Prosecutors told the court the incident occurred after the two men had been drinking at a party in Limavady.

Mr Fleming denies the charges, which include arson, burglary, assault and threats to kill.

The two men had been living together for 10 months before the attack, which happened on 25 January.

Police were called to the flat on the Alexander Road, and later arrested Mr Fleming as he was walking away from the property.

The court was told how someone had broken in, placed a pile of clothes on a cooker and switched the hob on.

This caused the fire, which damaged the kitchen area.

Mr Fleming has been refused bail.
