Man Charged Following Police Chase In West Belfast

A 70-year-old man has been charged with a number of driving offences following a police chase in west Belfast.

It is believed officers tried to stop a car driving erratically in the Glen Road area on Wednesday, 07 February.

The driver failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Officers from the Auto Crime Team have arrested and charged a man (70) with a number of driving offences including dangerous driving and no licence after he failed to stop for police on the Glen Road yesterday and a short pursuit ensued."

The suspect is due to appear in court in March.

Two Men Arrested Following Police Pursuit In North Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a police pursuit in North Belfast. It is understood that the police pursuit began late on Saturday, 21 July following reports that a vehicle had been involved in a theft at a shop on the Oldpark Road. The suspect vehicle was spotted by police just before midnight in the Ardoyne area and a pursuit began.

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.

Man Due In Court As Police Cars Rammed
A man is due to appear in court after two PSNI vehicles were rammed during an incident in Forkhill, Co Armagh. The 38 year-old is facing a number of motor-related offences after he failed to stop for police at around 11.40pm on the Newry Road in North Bridge. Two PSNI vehicles were also rammed by the offending car.

Man Arrested After Driving Vehicle At Police Officers In Ballymena
The PSNI have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of a number of offences after driving his vehicle at police officers in Ballymena. The offences include the attempted murder of three police officers, aggravated vehicle taking, criminal damage and dangerous driving.
