Murder inquiry launched after Markets body find

A murder inquiry has been launched after the body of a man was discovered in a flat in the Markets area of Belfast.

Neighbours found the body in an upstairs flat in Friendly Place at 7.45am on Monday.

Police believe the 38-year-old man had been beaten.

Two men have been arrested by detectives and are helping them with their inquiries.

Local reports indicate that the dead man, who has yet to e named, was from west Belfast.

Police have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man's body in east Belfast yesterday afternoon. William Weir, 46, from the McMaster Street area of the city, was found in a house in the Tower Street area of the Newtownards Road at around 4.45pm.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
