Air Passengers Advised To Carry Essentials In Hand Luggage

Air passengers traveling through Gatwick Airport have been advised to pack all essential items into hand luggage following a disruption in the bag reclaim system that has led to delays.

Extra baggage handlers have been drafted in following the disruption, but it is understood that some passengers are still facing delays of up to three hours.

The company that operates baggage handling at the airport, Swissport, have said that they are meeting targets despite the delays.

Customers Escape Injured After Car Crashes Into Pub

Customers at a bar in Denbighshire escaped injury when a car crashed through a was and into the lounge bar on Thursday.

Police say that a Volkswagen Polo crashed through the wall at Bar 236, Meliden Road, Prestatyn, sending a sofa "hurtling" across the room.

No was injured in the incident. Work has begun on making the building safe.

Man Dies In Farming Accident

Police Scotland have reported the death of an 18-year-old man in a farming accident in the Scottish Borders.

It was reported just after 09:00 that a man had fallen into a silo on the farm in Denholm, near Hawick.

A spokesman said: "Inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing.

"Officers are currently liaising with staff at the health and safety executive."

Coach Carrying Over 50 Passengers Crashes Down Ditch
A coach carrying over 50 passengers has overturned in a ditch off the M5 in Gloucestershire. The crash happened at around 10am, however none of the passengers are believed to be seriously injured. Police said the coach driver hurt his back in the incident.

Network Rail are to plead guilty to charges over health and safety failings in connection with the 2002 Potters Bar crash, in which seven people died. The company are being questioned over the condition of the tracks near the Hertfordshire station.

Kent Road Collision Kills Three People
Three people have died following a two vehicle road collision in Kent. It is understood the incident occurred on 10 May at approximately 3.50pm. A man riding a motorbike and two female passengers in a black Renault Megane collided on the A259 Rye Road in Brookland, Romney Marsh. Kent Police said the victims died as a result of the collision.

Hoax Bomb Man Sectioned
A man arrested for claiming to have brought a bomb on board a Qatar Airways passenger plane has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act. The 47-year-old was arrested at Manchester Airport after the plane, carrying 269 passengers and 13 crew, was escorted into land by the RAF.
