Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting
Here at A.F.E. Fire Protection, we service, maintain and install a range of fire alarm systems for commercial and domestic clients.

Providing both radio and wired fire alarm systems, you can sleep well at night knowing one of our fully qualified technicians has installed or maintained your fire alarm device to the required standard.

Fire Extinguishers
The number and type of fire extinguishers you require depends on the nature of your business and the risks involved. The best way to evaluate these risks is to undertake a Fire Risk Assessment, which is also part of your legal obligation as a business owner.

The how many is not always easy to gauge but, as a general rule, you will need one water-based extinguisher such as water, water additive (the best option for most) or foam (3 litre or bigger) for every 2000 square foot or 200 square metres of floor space. This is per floor.

Fire Risk Assessment
The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 came into force in November 2010.

The regulations impose a duty on the employer or any other person who may have control of any part of a premises (e.g. the occupier, owner or managing agent) to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of those premises.

The aim of the Fire Risk Assessment is to assess fire risks to the property and persons employed in or visiting the premises. A Fire Risk Assessment is for guidance and will be tailored to meet the requirements of your workplace.
