About Us
The Mortgage Shop is Northern Ireland's largest retail mortgage broker.

We source from the whole of the market.

Founded in 1992, we have 16 branches across Northern Ireland where we help home buyers arrange mortgage finance and home insurance in the most straightforward way possible, explaining the complicated procedures clearly and simply.

We help you make the right choice of mortgages
Out there in the mortgage market, there is a bewildering range of mortgage deals open to you. We can help you make the right choice at every step of the way. And because we don't represent a particular Bank or Building Society, we can use a wide range of lenders to find the mortgage that is especially right for your needs.

Home and Life Insurance, too
We also guide you through a range of home insurance and life insurance choices too, helping protect your mortgage, your home and family, and giving you peace of mind.

As with all insurance policies, conditions and exclusions will apply.

We do all the work
When it comes to mortgages, we will explain the choice of Variable, Discount, Capped, Fixed and Cashback offers. We will complete all the paperwork, submit it to your chosen lender, negotiate your individual application and monitor its progress through the administrative procedures.

Remortgaging
There are many reasons why you might want to remortgage:
  • Get a more competitive rate to lower your monthly repayments
  • Raise cash from the equity in your home
  • Consolidate your debts (This may result in lower monthly payments but extend the term over which the debt is paid and the overall cost may increase)

Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to find a lower interest rate on your mortgage with another lender.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

You may have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage.

Buying a home
Buying a new home can be a very stressful time. Our experienced team of mortgage advisors can help make the process run a lot smoother – from start to finish.

The most important thing, of course, is to find a competitive mortgage that’s right for you. But with so many mortgage deals out, there it’s not always easy to make the right choice.

Mortgage advice you can trust
We will act as your mortgage broker, ensuring you receive advice you can trust and rely on. Your dedicated mortgage advisor will liaise with estate agents, lender, solicitor and insurance company, keeping you informed every step of the way.

The Co-Ownership website will give you more information on who can use Co-Ownership, what properties may be suitable, how to apply and answers some of your questions. Visit their website at www.co-ownership.org

Excellent service from start to finish. Couldn't be more helpful and even when all seemed lost they did everything they could and it all worked out.
Getting a mortgage is one of the hardest things for first time buyers and the mortgage shop took a lot of the stress out of it.
Fiona who worked with us over a period of 3 months was amazing. Her upbeat personality and real interest in our situation really came through and in my opinion she worked a little miracle. She even helped with all of the insurances aswell which took all the hassle out of trying to find which one we wanted.
Currently writing this from my brand new house
