JKA WF Northern Ireland, Belfast

JKA WF Northern Ireland is linked directly to JKA HQ in Japan. We have clubs in Derry/Londonderry, Belfast and Bangor. All our instructors are fully qualified and recognised by Japan, 3rd Dan and above. Classes for all ages and all are welcome.
Sensei Kawasoe, 8th Dan JKA, is the chief instructor of JKA WF Northern Ireland and JKA Shotokan Ireland. He comes to Northern Ireland on a regular basis to teach and grade the students of the group (JKA WF Northern Ireland) and take seminars across all of Ireland.​

Avoniel SKC was established 1995 and is situated just outside Belfast City centre. The club has a membership of around 20 students who have had various successes at local and national levels.

The instructor is John Richardson. John started karate back in 1984 at the Rochfords Shotokan SKC Slough. He gained his 1st and 2nd Dan under the late Sensei Enoeda. He then moved to Belfast and gained his 3rd Dan in October 1998 his 4th Dan August 2005 and his 5th Dan 2014 under Sensei Kawasoe JKA. John is also a recognised JKA Instructor and Referee.

Come and learn a traditional art, some self defence, get fit and grow in confidence and have fun in friendly surroundings.
