Cigarette Stocks Stolen In Newtownabbey

What's been described as a "substantial quantity" of cigarettes has been stolen from a shop in Newtownabbey.

Police in the area said they are appealing for information following the burglary at a grocery store in the Kings Crescent area on Monday night.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Sometime between 10pm last night (Mon 27 June) and 6am this morning (Tues 28 June), thieves entered the premises by forcing the shutters and the front door.

"They stole a substantial amount of cigarettes with an estimated value of several thousands of pounds. They are believed to have made off in the direction of the primary school in the Kings Way."

The spokesman added that anyone who witnessed the robbery or who noticed any unusual activity in the area is asked to contact police at Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Co Armagh Stabbing
Two men, aged 50 and 51, have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Co Armagh. It is understood that the arrests following an incident at a house in Ballynahone Crescent just before 9pm on Wednesday 08 September. A man was found at the scene with stab wounds to his collar-bone.

Appeal For Information On Bus Stop Fight In West Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an "altercation" at a bus stop in West Belfast. According to reports, three young women and one older woman were involved in a fight at a bus stop at the Kennedy Centre in the late afternoon/early evening of Wednesday 25 August.

Two Arrests Made In Connection With Death Of Elderly Man In Dromore
A 54-year-old man has been arrested in suspicion of murder in connection with the death of an elderly man on 30 June in County Tyrone. The 84-year-old man was found dead at an address in Blackwater Road, Dromore. Police investigating the death made two arrests on Tuesday.
