Woman charged with teenager's murder
A Newtownabbey woman has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a 16-year-old youth in Belfast on Tuesday.
The woman 32-year-old Alison Abigail McKeown, whose address was withheld by order of the court, is accused of murdering Protestant teenager, Thomas McDonald.
The youth was knocked off his bicycle by a car near to his home in the Whitwell Road on Tuesday.
Ms McKeown made no reply when charged. As she was leaving the dock, the dead boy’s father lunged at her from his seat in the public gallery and shouted. Police officers stepped in to restrain him.
A 15-year-old boy and 20-year-old Patrick Michael Auld, whose address was also withheld by the order of the court, were charged with intent to pervert the course of justice by making an untruthful statement to police officers. Both were remanded in custody. (SP)

Warning Issued After Thousands Lost To Gift Card Scam
The PSNI have issued a warning after a L'Derry resident lost thousands of pounds in a gift card scam. According to police, the person was contacted online and told that they had won money. They were told they needed to send online gift cards to verify themselves. This continued for some time before the scam was spotted and stopped.

Man Arrested In Connection With Sean Fox Murder Investigation
PSNI detectives investigating the murder of Sean Fox in west Belfast in 2022 have arrested a 40-year-old man. The man was arrested following searches in west Belfast this morning, 1 February. The suspect was arrested under the Terrorism Act, and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Musgrave for questioning.
