Man Dies In Road Crash In County Antrim

A 21-year-old male has died in a car accident in County Antrim.

A lorry and a car crashed at the junction of the Moneynick Road and the M22 near Toomebridge around 11pm on Wednesday.

No-one else was seriously injured in the collision.

Motorists are asked to use alternative routes and avoid the area.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Two die in road traffic incidents
Two men have died following separate road traffic incidents over the weekend. Damien McGovern, 17, from Drumaran in Letterbreen, near Enniskillen, died following a collision at Sligo Road in Belcoo on Sunday evening. A 37-year-old man has also died after his lorry crashed in Greenisland, County Antrim early on Monday.

Man released without charge in connection with murder
Police have confirmed that a man arrested in Belfast yesterday in connection with the murder of County Antrim car dealer Ronald Todd, has been released without charge. The man is the third person to be arrested then released in relation to the murder inquiry.

Man Attacked By Masked Men Armed With Hammer
A man has required hospital treatment after he was beaten with a hammer during an aggravated burglary in Ahoghill, County Antrim. Police responded to the incident on Brook Street last night, Thursday 03 May at 11pm. Three masked men forced their way into the home and attacked the victim, a male aged in his 30s, who was home alone at the time.

Firm Fined For Acting Without Licence
The owner of a scrap metal firm has a admitted keeping, depositing and treating controlled waste without a licence. Robert John Mulholland of Mulholland Scrap Metals Ltd, based at Maine Road, Shanksbridge, Ballymena, County Antrim, has been fined £45,000.
