Man Arrested Over Basil McAfee Murder
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Basil McAfee in Belfast last year.
Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch arrested a 29-year-old man in the south Belfast area this morning.
Mr McAfee’s body was discovered in the living room of his home in Henderson Avenue in north Belfast on 20 December last year. He had last been seen alive on the evening of 19 December.
Police said the 50-year-old had head wounds consistent with being hit with an axe and had also been stabbed.
He had only recently moved into the area, having originally come from Ardoyne, also in north Belfast.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Charged Over Murder Of Anne O'Neill
A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Anne ONeill. The 51-year-old victim died from her injuries following an incident at a house in the Ardmore Avenue area in Finaghy on Saturday, 21 October. The suspect is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 25 October.

A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
