Police Officers Injured In Chase

Four police officers have been injured following a police chase in County L'Derry.

A Nissan Juke car was stolen in the Racecourse area on Thursday night and made off towards the Glenshane Pass.

Police chased the car after they discovered it on the Fallaghloon Road in Maghera, and it resulted in both vehicles crashing into one another.

A man from the stolen car ran away, however police arrested him a short time later.

He has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated taking and driving away, dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit, failing to stop and remain at the scene of an accident.

The police officers received minor injuries.

The 20-year-old was found collapsed in a unit of flats in Dromore Street at around 8.30pm on Thursday, 02 December. The three suspects have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. A post mortem is to take place to determine the cause of death.

Man Arrested Over Suspected Herbal Cannabis Find
A man, aged 23, has been arrested after police and customs officers seized suspected herbal cannabis worth an estimated value of over £1 million in Larne. The find was made after officers stopped a lorry in the Larne Harbour. The lorry and its trailer have been seized for further examination.

Two Men Arrested Over Assault At Cavehill Country Park
Two people have been arrested after a man was assaulted in Cavehill Country Park on Monday, 29 November. A man, aged in his 40s, has been released on bail pending further enquiries and the other man, aged in his 30s, remains in police custody.

Police Officers Disciplined For Speeding At 81mph Through A 30mph Zone
Two police officers have been disciplined after driving at 81mph through a 30mph zone in the village of Claudy in an unmarked police vehicle with no sirens or flashing lights activated, after chasing another car, following a Police Ombudsman investigation.
