Energy Efficiency Scheme To Help Homes In Fuel Poverty
Some 33,000 homes in Northern Ireland deemed to be in fuel poverty are to undergo energy efficiency improvements under the new Affordable Warmth Scheme.
Privately owned or rented homes throughout NI that spend 25% or more of their income on energy costs could be entitled to cavity wall insulation, draught proofing, new boiler installation and repairing or replacing ineffective window frames.
A comprehensive mapping exercise conducted by the University of Ulster has identified 33,000 homes most in need.
